Mr. Kuribayashi has been appointed as the head of the International Transaction Law Committee of the Tokyo Bar Association.
One of the authorized organizations of the Tokyo Bar Association is a study group called the International Transaction Law Committee. The International Transaction Law Committee is an organization that conducts research on contracts related to international transactions and how to resolve international transaction disputes when they arise. The International Transaction Law Committee has been in existence for nearly 30 years and already has more than 120 registered members. Mr. Kuribayashi has been appointed as the head of this Committee for the 2023 fiscal year. The main activity of the International Transaction Law Committee is to hold a monthly meeting and invite experienced lawyers and university professors to give lectures. As the head of the department, I must consider which professor will speak at each monthly meeting and request the lecturer to give a lecture. Through the activities of the study group, I hope to disseminate knowledge about international transaction law and build a system that will enable more lawyers to take an interest in international transaction law and contribute to society. So far, our activities have been small scale, with only about 10 people attending our regular meetings, but we would like to increase the number of new members, mainly young lawyers, and increase the number of participants in our regular meetings in the future. Membership of the International Transaction Law Committee is basically limited to members of the Tokyo Bar Association, but if any member of the Tokyo Bar Association is interested, please join us.
